What is MK-777 (Acetamoren)?

MK-777, also known as Acetamoren, is a synthetic, orally active, non-peptide, small molecule investigated in laboratory research as a growth hormone secretagogue and ghrelin receptor agonist. It is designed as an analog of earlier growth hormone secretagogues (GHS) compounds, such as MK-677.

It is being studied for its ability to promote growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) signaling via activation of the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) in preclinical settings.

Unlike peptide-based GH secretagogues such as Ipamorelin, MK-777 is orally bioavailable and designed for enhanced pharmacokinetics, providing more predictable blood levels and potentially greater therapeutic utility.

While structurally very closely related to MK-677, Acetamoren is considered a distinct compound with its own unique profile.

Key characteristics

  • Analog of MK-677 (Ibutamoren)
  • Activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a)
  • Developed by independent research labs
  • Designed for experimental and analytical purposes
  • Non-hormonal compound
  • Supplied for research use only

MK-777 potential benefits

Acetamoren is a very new compound, and unlike Ibutamoren, there are currently no peer-reviewed clinical or preclinical studies on this compound. Therefore, the potential benefits listed below are entirely based on theoretical models and anecdotal user reports.

Enhanced growth hormone release

MK-777 acts as a strong GHS-R1a agonist, stimulating pulsatile secretion of growth hormone (GH) and potentially increasing circulating levels of IGF-1. This mechanism can aid in recovery, cellular repair, and anabolic processes.

Improved selectivity

MK-777 is hypothesized to exhibit higher receptor affinity and an optimized design, demonstrating greater selectivity than Ibutamoren. This may lead to a reduced side-effect profile and more consistent outcomes.

Limited effect on appetite

Compared to Ibutamoren, MK-777 is said to have a minimal effect on appetite, which is considered a massive benefit for anyone not actively trying to gain weight (bulking).

Legal status

Acetamoren has not been approved by the FDA or EMA for human consumption or therapeutic use. It can therefore not be legally prescribed or sold as a supplement.

While not explicitly named, MK-777 is banned by the WADA under section S2.2.4, which includes growth hormone secretagogues (GHS) and their mimetics.

HQSARMS Acetamoren (MK-777) is strictly intended for research purposes only.
