What Is Enclomiphene Citrate?

Enclomiphene citrate, or simply Enclomiphene, is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) used to boost testosterone levels in men with low T.

Bodybuilders have widely adopted enclomiphene citrate for post-cycle therapy after using SARMs or anabolic steroids. Following cycle completion, it resets endogenous testosterone production and boosts natural testosterone levels.

Because its action focuses more on enhancing FSH activity than LH activity, there is less feedback suppression when compared with more traditional SERMs or AIs (Aromatise Inhibitors). Since it offers fewer problems when used for longer periods, enclomiphene is considered a better option for people who run frequent steroid cycles.

How does Enclomiphene work?

Enclomiphene works by directly influencing the hormonal feedback mechanism within the body, which primarily targets the estrogen receptors located in the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is an important part of the brain that is responsible for hormone regulation. By antagonizing these receptors, enclomiphene works to disrupt the normal negative feedback loop that estrogen has on the production of gonadotropin-releasing hormone.

This disruption results in an increased secretion of GnRH, which then stimulates the pituitary gland, sending a signal to release higher levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). These hormones are essential for the stimulation of the testes in males, which can lead to an increased production of testosterone and can also play a role in helping to maintain the level of sperm production.

Unlike other traditional testosterone therapies that only replace testosterone, enclomiphene works differently. It boosts the body’s natural testosterone production, which is crucial for maintaining the balance between testosterone replacement and ensuring the preservation of fertility.

Using Enclomiphene during a SARM cycle

There is quite a lot of anecdotal evidence showing the use of Enclomiphene during a SARM cycle will completely mitigate signs of suppression, as a result of base testosterone levels doubling or some cases nearly triple, from the use of Enclomiphene.

You can find reports (including blood work results) on various forums, including Reddit, where users had higher testosterone levels after a cycle then before when using this particular SERM alongside their SARMs cycle.

While SERMs such as Nolva, Clomid and Enclo are not powerful enough to be used as a so-called “test base” along a cycle of anabolic steroids, they seem to be effective enough for a SARMs cycle.

Enclomiphene benefits

Increased testosterone production

Enclomiphene is the only SERM that is being seriously studied as a treatment for hypogonadism. It is extremely effective at boosting Testosterone levels, and more and more anecdotal evidence is coming out proving that it is an excellent PCT option as well as an excellent test base for SARM cycles.

It is also extremely effective at increasing fertility and sperm count, and is capable of reversing testicular atrophy after a cycle.

Improved mood and libido

Given that all SERMs can increase Testosterone levels, you would expect all of them to increase sex drive and improve one’s mood. The reality is that most SERMs will either have a neutral or even negative on both mood and libido. Enclomiphene seems to be the only exception.

Increased muscle mass

While enclomiphene does not have anabolic properties, its effectiveness in raising testosterone levels may result in increased muscle mass. This is despite the fact that it lowers IGF-1 levels.

Decreased IGF-1 levels

Based on research, we know that one of the side effects of enclomiphene is that it lowers IGF-1 levels. While this is seen as a possible benefit in the context of this particular research, IGF-1 has anabolic properties of its own. However, the drop in IGF-1 levels is not nearly so severe that it would negate the anabolic effects associated with the rise in testosterone levels.

Some users advocate the use of MK-677 in combination with enclo, because that raises IGF-1 levels. While this would certainly be effective in regards to this, it is important to mention that MK-677 does a lot more than just raise IGF-1.

Increased aggression

According to both anecdotal evidence and reports, Enclomiphene can cause something similar to what is commonly known as “Roid Rage”. Users report feeling more masculine, aggressive and impatient, which is not unexpected for a substance that raises testosterone levels.
